House Democrats Go Big & Bold on Jobs and Deficit Reduction
House Democrats are deeply committed to a big, bold, and balanced plan to create jobs and reduce the deficit. We know job creation is America’s top priority and job creation equal deficit reduction. That’s why today, 16 Democratic Ranking Members of House Committees recommended plans to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction to create jobs and cut the deficit.
Fourteen million Americans who are unemployed through no fault of their own are waiting on Congress to get back to work. Democrats and Republicans must work together as Americans to pass jobs legislation now. No other single item protects middle class families and reduces the deficit by a third. The letters from Democratic Ranking Members are a step to making this happen.
