Chairman Crowley on Holocaust Remembrance Day

April 24, 2017

(Queens, NY) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day:

“The Holocaust is one of the darkest and most horrific crimes in human history, and it remains critically important on Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day – and on all days, for us to remember the millions of Jewish individuals and others who were systematically murdered because of bigotry and hatred. Showing tolerance and love for others is an important way we can honor the memories of Holocaust victims.

“At a time when Holocaust denial is rampant throughout the world and anti-Semitism is on the rise, we all must remember the truth – that the final solution was designed to eliminate the Jewish people – and remain committed to combating discrimination and anti-Semitism wherever it occurs. And, on this solemn day of remembrance, we must recommit ourselves to working to ensure that governments never again carry out these atrocities.”
