The Democratic Women's Working Group continues to fight for policies that promote equality and opportunity for all women, from measures that ensure economic security to initiatives on affordable health care and quality education.

Working families all across the nation are struggling to maintain their economic security—and women continue to face higher rates of poverty than men. Women continue to earn less than men for the same jobs, struggle to meet the dual demands of work and family, and face violence even within their own homes. We can—and we must—do more, to ensure prosperity and equity for all American women. When women do better, we all do better.

Democratic women in Congress believe that all women should have equal opportunity to succeed, access to good jobs and fair wages, a secure retirement, protection from domestic violence and sexual assault, affordable, quality health care, and the best child care and education for their children.
