I am shocked and saddened by today's extraordinary tragedy in which my friend and Congressional colleague Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was gravely injured.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Congresswoman Giffords. I hope for her swift and complete recovery. And to her family and to all the friends and family members of all those who were victims of today’s horrific events.
Gabby is one of my closest friends and my thoughts and prayers are with Mark, Gabby’s parents, and their family as they struggle to get through this unimaginable tragedy.
