Democrats make "Made in America" manufacturing and job creation a priority

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of the Representatives passed common-sense legislation that will create jobs and boost our clean energy industries.  Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, said:

“Democrats want to see the “Made in America” label make a comeback.  The Home Star jobs legislation will put American workers back on the job manufacturing and installing the supplies that will refit American homes and build a clean American energy economy.

“America has been at the forefront of every technological innovation of the last century and I believe that we can be leaders in a new energy economy.  But we need to make the investments that other countries like China and Brazil are making to boost their own clean energy industries.

“This common-sense, market-driven legislation will give our clean energy industry the boost it needs to create hundreds of thousands of jobs.  It will put money back into the pockets of American families when they install new insulation, new windows or energy efficient appliances in their homes.  It will reduce our energy use and our reliance on foreign sources of oil.  It is a win-win-win for American workers and manufacturers, our clean energy industries and our national security.”
