CJ's Home Protection Act
The CJ's Home Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 320), introduced by Representative Brad Ellsworth, would provide Americans in the path of dangerous storms with life-saving warnings. This bill would change the federal manufactured home construction and safety standards to require every manufactured home delivered for sale to be supplied with a weather radio. Weather radios provide immediate broadcasts of severe weather warnings and civil emergency messages, including tornado and flood warnings, AMBER alerts for child abductions, and chemical spill notifications. This bill is about public safety. When it comes to surviving violent storms, a warning can make all the difference.
