Department of Defense Appropriations Act
The Department of Defense Appropriations Act (H.R. 3326), introduced by Representative John Murtha, keeps our commitment to our troops and their families during this time of war.
The bill would authorize $636.3 billion to meet the needs of our troops, preparing them for whatever emergencies may arise, providing them with first-class weapons and equipment, and ensuring that they and their families are well taken care of. The bill would also make critical investments in the health, well-being, and readiness of our armed forces. At the same time, the bill begins to rein in the use of contractors and return governmental functions to the Department of Defense personnel.
